THE MIDDLE WAY…POEM

My rights, my justice and my laws,
I have the truth; it is my cause;
All factions loud proclaim their right,
To serve their creeds in word and fight

Allah God the Muslims cry,
All the infidels must die;
A loving God the Christians hold,
All sinners welcome in his fold.

Hindus find in God new birth,
God is life what’ ere its worth;
A cyclic view of all mankind,
Rebirth will save all humankind.

Wars rise from all these different creeds,
They supersede the people’s needs;
“Power will win” the victors cry,
“We’ll make them believe or else they’ll die”

Culture cannot command the true,
For most resist when told to do;
Radical and far out schemes,
Kill enterprise and people’s dreams

The loudest shouts, and violence too,
Should not tell us what to do;
The loudest sounds don’t voice the right,
They set positions; start a fight.

The Golden Mean’s the path to follow,
No extremes or justice hollow;
Tolerance and compassion too,
They’ll guide us well in all we do

We cannot let the center fold,
The middle values we must hold;
They teach us how to human be
With love of life and liberty.
