My Lord has promised great & mighty things
Promises or grace & mercy
Promises of prayers heard
Promises of help from above
He will never leave you alone

But there are some things He does not promise
He will not lighten the burden for souls
Nor will you get by without prayer & the Word
He does not promise battles won easily

He does not promise to carry your cross for you
Nor does He promise the cross will have wheels so it’s easier to carry
He does not promise a life without persecution
To be like Him you have to go through the fire
And be a partaker of His sufferings

The Lord does not promise a life of ease
It is a struggle to grow spiritually
It is a fight against evil
You will always be battling evil or always building the Kingdom

So if you are looking for a life of ease
It is not in following the Lord
To follow Him it is best to count the cost you will have to pay
However the promises He has made out way all the bad

It is worth it all to follow the Lord
Heaven is our payment for bearing the cross
It will be worth it just to see His face & to hear Him say “Well Done”
