The heavens declare the glory of God
And the works of His mighty hand!
Both day and night they utter speech
That man might understand.

There is no speech nor language
Where their voice cannot be heard.
All mankind who dwells on earth
May hear their wondrous words.

And from this heavenly tabernacle
Comes forth the mighty sun,
Rejoicing as a champion
Who has a race to run.

He rises draped in splendor...
Radiant, golden, bright!
And sweeps his course through heaven
Touching earth with warmth and light.

The law of the Lord is perfect
And His precepts true and right.
They bring revival to man's soul
And to his heart delight.

The statutes of our God are sure,
Making the simple wise.
The commandments of the Lord are pure,
Bringing light to blinded eyes.

The fear of God is pure and clean;
It shall endure forever.
The judgments of our Lord are true
And righteous altogether.

More to be desired are they
Than gold or wealth or money,
And when upon thy servant's lips...
'Tis taste more sweet than honey!

And by them is thy servant warned
To harken to his Lord.
To keep them brings such joyous praise,
"Great is thy reward!"

Forgive me, Lord, my secret faults;
Cleanse me deep within.
Keep back thy servant also
From presumptuous, willful sin.

Let not these sins set up a throne
To rule and reign o'er me.
Then shall I be innocent...
I'll have no Lord save Thee!

And may the musings of my heart
In still, dark hours of night,
And words I speak by light of day
Be pleasing in Thy sight.
