There’s a silent uprising
Going on inside of me
A quiet uprising
Against prejudice and inhumanity
Against injustice and yes
Even cruelty

There’s silent uprising
Going on inside of me
Against abusers of the young
And the elderly
Against hunger and war
And immorality
Against liars and thievers
And perrverters of dreams

Yes, there’s a silent uprising
Going on inside of me
My soul cries out in pain
And in indignity
My heart says No!
Why must this be?

Oh yes! There’s a silent uprising
Going on inside of me
And then I realize…
The change
The cure
The healing
Must begin with Me!!
