Read Jer. 2:1-37
Focus Jer.2:27-28

Who are our gods? Our jobs, our children, our money, our cars, our families, our houses, our partying, our drugs, our smoking, or other material things? Do we worship these things by putting them before God or not putting God at all? How much time do we dedicate to these things as opposed to how much time do we spend or dedicate to God? We mumble or complain that there isn't enough time in the day to do all that we have to or need to do. But who created the day and who has provided and blessed us with the things we have and the things we able to do? And the moment something goes wrong we are quick to call on Jesus to rescue and save us from our situation or circumstance. We can't have a trial, dilemma or test in our lives; we don't have time for that! "So, Jesus come on and fix this, so I can get back to my busy life, where I don't have time or thought for You until I need You." Or maybe we put our trust for deliverance in others or things. How often have we been let down or disappointed by people and things? People and things cannot deliver us, only God can! Sometimes it may eve4n appear that they can help us but is only a temporary patch for whatever "ails" us. Only God can "deliver"! It is only by putting Him first in our lives and being obedient to His word and His will that we gain strength to "go through" our tests and trials. And even more, we have peace and joy in our everyday lives. Jesus is the only true "stress-reliever". So maybe, we should examine our lives to see where we have placed Him. And if He's not in "first place", we may need to figure out why and what it is that is so important that we would place it before Jesus.
