“YOU KEPT CALLING ME!”
Sitting here today talking to you, Lord, in prayer
Thanking you for all the times you saved me;
From the open jaws of evil that tried to swallow me,
From all the worldly pleasures that would have lead to my death,
When I willingly rebelled against you by doing wrong,
When I forgot you and fell in love with the world,
A still voice, yet powerful, inside me kept calling my name,
Telling me to come and be free!
Sitting here today communing with you, Lord,
Tracing back when I was in my mothers womb;
The feeling of you crafting and molding me every second,
Planting in me all my talents, my qualities and more.
I heard my mother cry, dear Lord, saying ‘not now’
She felt it was not time for me to be born
Her tears, her pain, her insecurities about life and me, I felt them all.
When I felt unwanted and unloved by my mother,
A still voice, yet powerful, inside me kept calling my name,
Telling me my life was in God’s hands!
Sitting here today crying before you Lord,
Looking back at the times you saved me;
Growing up, dear Lord, hearing things and seeing things,
Without any knowledge of why things are good or evil,
The open jaws of evil threw worldly desires at me,
I remember doing things because others were doing things,
Yet, these things, dear Lord, something in me fought against them.
A still voice, yet powerful, inside me calling my name fought for me,
Telling me I was born of God!
Sitting here today helpless before you Lord,
I want to beat myself up, for all the times;
When I chased after worldly pleasures,
And forgot to live for you.
When I willingly rebelled against you and lost all fear of you,
And relied on my understanding, means and abilities.
When I made the world that brought about my destruction, my hurt,
bruised and damaged me, ‘god!’
I fell in love with it and denied you!
I heard you Lord, You came in a still voice, yet powerful, and you were calling me! Telling me you can give me peace!
Sitting here today, victorious before you Lord,
With blessings overflowing and uncontainable,
With a life of peace and complete freedom,
With joy so deeply rooted in me,
With multiplication of talents and spiritual gifts,
With faith so deep and strong that you are pleased with me,
I thank you Lord, because you pressed on, never gave up on me,
You kept calling me, Lord!
You came in a still voice, yet powerful, inside me and called me by name.
Telling me that I was Yours!
