I have a most unwelcome visitor. It is, I believe, living under my deck. I think it was here last year too, as my dog tangled with it, and lost. It is a stinky skunk.

This year, it has targeted my cat. My husband went to get in his car this morning, after leaving the windows down overnight, and could barely get in because of the stench. Why would that pesky critter be in or near the car, you ask? Because every animal here and within five hundred miles of my home seems to be determined to mark his territory in my yard.

Apparently, Milo, my feline friend, decided to tango with it last night, in the car,or possibly under, as I discovered when I opened the door this morning to let him in. The odor made my eyes water!

I watched helplessly as he darted through the door, and dashed upstairs as if the hounds of hell were after him. I raced up after him, and there he was, SPLAYED ACROSS MY PILLOW, just daring me to come get him.

I have apologized to Milo for this, but he isn't coming inside for long, at least not for awhile anyway. A few minutes here and a few minutes there will have to do for now.

Aahh--pesky little critters. I think they're gonna win the battle with us.
