There is so much
We fret about
Coming in
And going out

When we’re young
We do not know
Wisdom comes
As we grow

Places to see
Things to do
Sometimes happy
Others blue

Strive to own
Work to gain
But through all
There’s much pain

Go to school
Get a job
All so busy
Please the mob

Pressure comes
From those outside
Bend the rules
Guard your pride

Then when we
Are older still
We make a choice
To live His will

We try to calm
Our children’s fears
As they grow
Throughout the years

Happiness comes
From earthly things
Like boats and cars
And diamond rings


But joy it comes
From deep within
And asking God
To be your friend

When we’re old
And about to die
Loved ones gather
And often cry

But we with our
Knowledge base
Instruct them to
Seek His face

Life’s to short
To miss the train
To waist our time
On earthly gain

Seek ye first
His holy throne
And you will never
Be alone

Store up treasure
High above
And lean to share
His holy love

When you stand
At heaven’s gate
There is no time
It is too late

Strive to stand
At His right
Where it is day
And no more night
