By truth I find my heart turns to You;
I am drawn to You who is Truth itself;
You are the gold of the cage that protects me;

The truth defines the pain I’ve felt,
That which I’ve felt so often,
And will feel again;
Truth introduced me to this pain,
And has reconciled me to it;
And pain has comforted me by truth;
Truth has given my pain a Face;

By You, I learn from the pain,
And it is part of what defines me;
If I lean into it, I become the victor of it;
I have learned this by Truth;
Thus the pain changes me for good,
For He is good, and Truth;
The pain lets me see my humanity,
And His divinity;
This is always true;

By pain, I find my heart turns to you;
I am drawn to one who hurts like me;
It is the warming light that moves me,
All for you…

Lord, may these always be true,
And for Your glory;
In pain, the Truth of You was most glorious!
