Four years ago today

It was on September 11
Four years ago today,
That I turned on CNN
And I began to pray.
I sat and stared in unbelief
At what I saw that morning.
It came about so quickly.
It seemed there was no warning.
New York City was first to feel
The terror and the pain.
As the Twin Towers were destroyed
By the 2 highjacked planes.
Then there was the pentagon,
And Pennsylvania too.
With so many people lost or gone,
America didn't know what to do.
People filled churches for days to come,
Searching for comfort and prayer.
They called out to God all over the world
And God's love filled the air.
Time has passed so quickly
And churches so full then,
Once again have empty pews.
Has God been forgotten again?
Let us all remember
What happened that tragic day.
And as we remember,
Let us take time to pray.
As we remember the ones who died,
Let's remember who pulled us through,
God dried all the tears we cried.
Remember God truly loves you.
Let's put God back in America,
Like He was meant to be.
And He will protect His people
In the land of the proud and free.
