You took care of us three
you sheltered us under your arms
ready to defend at the sign of harm

You stood tall and never backed down
we could always count on Moma
to be around

Heart aches were plenty
but you took them all in stride
you even held on tight
when your oldest one died

I hated more than anything
that day i saw you cry
But I couldn't make the pain go away
no matter how hard I tried.

You taught us the golden rules
and put our standards high
I never understood
but now I know why
