Missed your chance,
Many a time,
Another light goes out daily.
Another emotion settled too often;
When I think of it,
It could have been me.

Missed my chance,
Many a time,
Another promise made untrue.
Another cheer let out for sin;
When I think of it,
It could have been you.

Wasted are the lives that we live,
If we don't stop and die.
If we don't catch up to the thing called Love,
Wasted are the lives that pass us by.

You, me, others?
Who knows?
They're just within reach.
Become the bridge linking the two
And the branches connecting each.

I love you for we are alike,
Both capable of the same things.
Getting there?
That's what's different.
What's the same is what we bring.
