Do I Know

Lord, help my faith to grow
Not saying “I think”, but “I know
Confidence is what I need
Relying on Your promise to succeed

Too often when I say “If it is Your will”
My doubt allows the enemy to steal
The blessings that You sent to me
“If You can” is what it turns out to be

I know that You are able to bless
Even if my faith is a doubting mess
I hide behind misconstrued thoughts
Misunderstanding the Word I was taught

For if my prayers align with Your will
Then it is a promise that You fulfill
Then I wander, do I know for sure
Does it really align as it is stated before?

In Your Word, Your will is made known
By Your Son’s example we are shown
If we read and study Your Holy Word
Our prayers are answered when heard.

Brethren,

Am I the only one that feels this way at times, wondering if my prayer really aligns with God’s will or not? I was discussing this with my friend the other night. We should have confidence (FAITH) in our prayers. We have the Bible so we know God’s will. I think sometimes I try to tap dance around God’s will in my prayer life, and just ask for what I want instead of what I need. What’s more is that I think the effects of the “tap dance” allow doubt (leaven) to enter into my prayers that do align with God’s will and this hinders my prayer life.

If we study the Word, then we know God’s will. If we change are hearts (the effects of growing mature as a Christian) then our will begins to align with God’s. Then we can be bold and confident with our prayers, because we are then certain that they align with God’s will.

God is able and willing to answer our prayers (at anytime), but as Our Father His desire is for us to grow (in all aspects of life) and mature through experience. Even if that means making us wait on His timing or allowing enough time to see the selfishness of our prayer.

"Am I the only one that feels this way at times, wondering if my prayer really aligns with God’s will or not?" Of course you aren't! In fact, I'd personally be worried about someone that didn't have to go through it. It's part of the growth process. But, praise be to God, we are forever learning and growing in faith! 2 Corinthians 1:18-24

Great anointed poetry,Christian!!!
How true it is always the Father's will to grant our prayer requests in accordance to His Loving Holy will for our lives!!! I heard a preacher once quote"God always answers our prayers in three ways, Yes,No,and Wait!!!

With Christian Love to you and your wife.

To answer your question, no, of course not! What God loves to see is the searching for understanding and wisdom - I think I have seen that Grin that stretches across His Face a searching heart produces a few times and it tickles me to the core.

Christian, you're not alone; just on the journey Home. You wouldn't have these concerns nor would Doubt (Alias Satan) pay any attention to you if you didn't pose a threat to his ultimate end-game:)

Blessings, Jody
