The time is coming for my final breath;
For my last day, here on this earth,
For I go the way of all in death,
But I go to where there’s endless mirth;

So I know many will, for me, grieve,
And so they may, but not without hope;
Even though my spirit makes its last leave,
For my Lord Jesus is my soul’s rope;

So I leave with you this word of peace,
To comfort you in this time of need;
To bring joy when I have ceased,
For I will realize what He’s decreed;

My final breath here will be followed,
With a breath of joy, coming to Him;
For this reason, He must be hallowed;
I go to Him, leaving all my sin;

And I go sweetly, in quietness of breath,
To my Lord and God; my King and Christ;
I’m precious to Him, even in death;
He’s precious to me, for sacrifice.
