I heard the words say be still my child
I do know your end
Just hold your peace and thank me
for I am your friend

The storm it will pass over
Know in the night it will debate
Because no storm will last forever
for I do hold your date

Yes the dark clouds will try to enlude
but dont take it as some surprise
But just be still and wait in peace
your God will hear your cries

He promise to never leave us
and be a shoulder where we can lay
Oh what a friend we have in Jesus
that always comes our way

His love is always extending
to mend and bring joy to the heart
It may not always happen when we ask
but he always does his part

I found in the storm there is safety
when our world is crumbling within
But we have a God who steps right up
to bring it to an end

For he is in the mist of the storms
and he is carrying us through
And we can count on a peaceful journey
for the Lord knows what to do

So now cast your cares upon him
and ride this broken ship out
Your Savior will stir us to the end
for this is what he's all about
