Writer’s Block

For all the times I’ve written with ease,
Words seemed to flow just like a breeze.
For all the times I had so much to say,
Lord, I just can’t think of anything today!

Is this what they call the writer’s block?
Sitting here for hours looking at the clock!
Broken messages inside, that won’t come out,
I don’t like this feeling of writer’s doubt.

I have an idea, but can’t bring out the words,
It’s almost like chirping without any birds!
Maybe tomorrow God will clear up my head,
By His Spirit, I pray my pen will be fed…..

Hello! I am not sure you intended this to be funny, but I could not help but chuckle... as I relate to every line!! You expressed writer's block perfectly! I'm trying to learn not to force my poetry. I'm rarely satisfied when I do. Thanks for your great expression of a very real problem! YOu sure didn't have a block the day you wrote this. Linda

Wow....Have you read "The Panther" by Rainer Marie Rilke? ; in reference to your poem here, 'Writer's Block', which one will feel now and again, ...
I really enjoy your style, and the feelings you share!
I believe God blesses all of us 'Faith writers'with each other, here on this site.

Dear Julia, you are a bonafide member of the grand club of "Writer's Block". Just teasing. I know how you feel. When I get that way and really want to write something I take it to God in prayer as I lay down to sleep at night. If you do this, be prepared to have to get up and write down your thoughts as they start coming in. Thomas
