Victory Is Not Cheap

We want to proclaim victory
And dance in the big parade
We want to sing praise songs
But are we living a charade?

Victory is not cheap
It comes with a price
To proclaim victory
We must put on armor and fight

We want to proclaim victory
Joining in the army of the Lord
We want to sing victory chants
But unwilling to storm hell’s door

Victory is not cheap
There is a price to be paid
To proclaim victory
We must march through war zones unafraid

When the battle begins
We run for cover & hide
Crying Lord where are you?
Have you left my side?

The enemy shoots his arrows
We whimper in fear
Hiding in fox holes
Wondering why war is so near

Victory is not cheap
Let me remind you today
To proclaim victory
There is a price to pay

Don’t think for a moment
That victory is free
We must engage in battle
Before victory we’ll see

II Timothy 2:3 thou therefore endure hardness, as a good soldier of Jesus Christ.
