Oh! Loved one how can this be.
Your body now betraying your inner being.
A sickness no one can beat
Body slowly deteriorating.
Medication to ease the pain.
But this is done in vain.
Waiting for your time.
Aching body you grasp for breath
Scared to sleep.
Anguish and pain in your eyes
Wondering when you will die.
Looking at life as never before.
Seeing how precious it really is.
What do we say? What will we do?
Other than to say and do
I LOVE YOU.

Yes, we can say I love you, and that will mean a lot. For those who are in Christ, death is only a stepping stone to Heaven, where there will be no more cancer and pain. What we can do beyond saying I love you is to tell the dying person about the love of Christ. Thank you for sharing. I lost a brother to cancer, and it was heart wrenching to watch him suffer. Thomas
