Once I was lost
no main line out
trees and branches blocked my view
darkness and a dissolute mind-set seized me
binding and destroying my brain
my being
I was nothing but a shadow
a mere shadow
flitting from place to place
as the sun formed me
landing in the wrong place at the wrong time
not doing unto others
as I wanted them to do to me
lost
lost
in a world of turmoil
seeking freedom
peace
deliverance
a shaft of light shone out of the foliage
kissed my cheeks
opened my eyes
lead me out of the darkness into the light
