Within the Veil: Eternity Found

CHAPTER 4: The Incarnation


Free will did not God’s sovereignty lessen,
and all evil acts, both by man and by Satan,
God sovereignly wove into His own righteous plan
toward His ultimate goal - the redemption of Man.
At the center of all the enemy’s scheming
was the tool God would use to do the redeeming.

The enemy thought it his own invention,
a rough wooden cross wrought with evil intention.
But his knowledge began at the start of time past;
he could not comprehend before first, beyond last.
And hidden in mystery before time was transcribed
stood a cross on a hill and a lamb, crucified.

Father and Son stood outside time and space
and together they wept for all Adam’s race.
Before them was spread the whole history of Man.
They watched as Man’s ruin spread through the land.
The Spirit had searched and searched the world over
to find one righteous man who could be the restorer.

One righteous man, without sin of his own,
could pay the full price and for them atone.
The Father, in sorrow, said to His Son
“there are none righteous, no, not even one.
There is only one way to set them all free:
you must join them, my Son, and hang on that tree.”

He had created time and He had created space,
but He'd never been bound to any moment or place.
To give up eternity and be so constrained
to one tiny body on one tiny plane.
To go and to suffer, and finally, to die.
He paused on the brink and asked Himself “why?”

He remembered eternity, before time began,
how the Three, in their wisdom, had devised the plan.
How they created the cosmos: the heavens, the earth,
as a place where their children could experience birth.
He pondered the purpose they had hidden inside,
that the end of creation was to reveal His bride.

He remembered the beauty of how Adam and Eve
came together in oneness before they were deceived.
He remembered their walks in the garden of bliss,
and the sweet fellowship they had known and now miss.
He saw man and woman as they first were intended-
joined to Him in Spirit, His own life extended.

But the one who was meant to be His betrothed
was now playing the harlot, in iniquity clothed.
But His love was never dependent on hers;
His love was forever, for better or worse.
He would pay the full price that He had to pay
to redeem His beloved and wed her one day.

He stood at the end and from this vantage gazed
back past the beginning to the days before days.
Then He stood at the dawn of all His creation
and saw clearly its end before its causation.
From this point He gazed past the end and He sighed,
for He beheld His beloved, a pure spotless Bride.

Then He turned to His Father and His Father drew near,
and He beheld on the face of His Father, a tear.
The Son said “Dear Father, on Earth I will be
bound to live as a man and as a man walk with Thee.
But even there I’ll behold You, and always I’ll hear
your voice in my Spirit and my way will be clear.”

Then He turned and stepped through the portal of time
and eternity dwindled to a point on a line.
The One who had always encompassed the world
became encompassed Himself in the womb of a girl.
Thus the Creator entered the world He had made
and was born as a man, the child of a maid.
