Prayers

Distractions during prayer time can be a nagging itch in the middle of our back, if we don't know how to deal with it. If it's not the kids interrupting, the door bell ringing, or the smoke alarm coming on after you forgot to take the chicken out of the oven, it's the flesh asking different questions. Did you forget to take the trash out? Doesn't Survivor come on in an hour? Have you went over an hour? How long have you been praying? Why does it matter how long I've been praying? Ahhhhh! Shutup Devil. Flesh your going to pray. Don't think I'm crazy because sometimes thats the attitude we have to have in order to pray.

Many times in the bible Jesus withdrew himself from the daily activities of life just to pray to The Father. He went onto mountain tops, in the wilderness, in gardens in the midnight hour, and he even sent his disciples ahead of him on the journeys they were taking just to get some quality time alone with God. Those intimate times with God gave Jesus a secret force of strength and also it helped him to stay focused in the midst of the chaos surrounding him.

Some Christians don't enter their secret closets until their forced to by bad situations. The husbands got to walk out the door first. The kids got to curse em out a few times more. The electric has to get turned off. The car has to get repoed. The house has to be threatened by foreclosure.

And thats all terrible situations to have to deal with. But the truth is, if we took time to pray to God everyday, we would have seen it coming and been able to deter the situation and not been in the mess in the first place. We would have got godly wisdom from the Spirit of God on how to handle our affairs more wisely.

When we make conscious decisions to set aside time to pray everyday a change will happen. We will go from the natural realm to the supernatural, from limited thinking to godly wisdom, from victim mentalities to victor mentalities, from fear to faith, and from unpowerful weaklings to power filled strengtheners of the brethren. (Is strengtheners even a word? I don't know. O' Well)

All those things are the differences in praying and not praying. Satan knows it. That's why he fights prayer so much. If Satan can cut prayer out of a Christians life, he can cut the living God out of Christians life. Don't let him do neither one. Fight to pray. Say to yourself, "flesh your going to pray whether you like it or not." Your life depends on it.
