Encouragement

Days come mixed with emotions,
We can't escape that fact.
Dwelling in self-pity,
Is a self-destructive act.

I've made mountains out of mole-hills,
Majored on the minor.
Often been to Worryville,
Been mean when I should have been kinder.

I've been down on myself,
When I should have been looking up.
I've seen the glass half empty,
When I should have seen a half full cup.

How gracious of our God to give us,
A friend in times like these.
To give us a lift in our spirit,
To help us in our need.

Praise God for those who know us,
That have understanding of,
Our present situation and,
Still surround with love.

But the friend that sticketh closer than brother,
Is the One at the end of the day.
That comforts us in our trials,
In a unique and mysterious way.

He knows the path we've taken,
He's seen our heart response.
That Great Physician gives prescription,
For our needs and not our wants.

That remedy now taken,
I've come to Him in prayer.
I've laid my burdens at His feet,
Worshipped Him while there.

Now as I lay me down to sleep,
I praise Him once again.
The One who saved this poor lost sheep,
Is Sure, the sinner's Friend!
