I Wonder dear Lord
When you hear others’ prayers
If they also offer
Their sins and their fears

If they ask you to mend
Their broken hearts
And fill with Your presence
Their empty parts

I wonder dear Lord
When You offer Your grace
If it hurts when I turn
And slap you in the face

And when You offer
Your shield and Your wings
That we see them as weapons
not blessings

That we want to make
Our own decisions
But by doing so
We build our prisons

I wonder dear Lord
When You look at this girl
If that’s what you meant to send
Into this world.

And why you don’t repay
As we deserve
Instead you show mercy,
Love and reserve.

I wonder dear Lord
When You look from above
If you know how grateful
I am for Your love.
