The Journey

Jericho, and the moment getting closer
Two friends arguing, a blind man wants to see
So many things to call for your attention
Yet just one thing – your undying love for me

Bethany, and the moment now upon You
They’re waving palms, hosannas they will sing
Violent scenes at the temple are awaiting
How dare they try to dishonour You the King!

Gethsemane, and now You are in the Garden
Just a few short hours, they will lead You out to die
An unfriendly kiss of bitterness will betray You
As Your friends can’t stay awake to see you cry

Calvary, and the time has come in fullness
The pleasure of the Father’s will be done
For there is no other way that He can solve this
His Son must die for the sins of everyone

The empty tomb, and now the power is broken
The King’s alive and death has lost its sting
The dying Lamb is now the Lamb victorious
He is risen! Hallelujah! He is King!
