HOW DO WE DO IT?

How do we as Christians make it through the storms of life? Just let go and let God. That’s what some will say. Turn it over to Jesus. Is what others may say. Child, you just have to press through. I’m sure you have heard that one. Take it to Jesus in prayer. We’ve heard that too. Yes, those are all good, sound, spiritual advice. But yet it seems they are not so easy to follow. Well, the more I think and ponder over this question, part of the answer is definitely: You do it one day at a time. It is very true that day by day what ever we are going through at the moment seems to get easier to handle. But I am truly convinced that this only happens when we take it to Jesus in prayer. We are going to still think about the problem. But if we keep reminding ourselves that things are going to work out because we can do all things through Christ who strengthens us, after a while the problem will have become a thing of the past. Then we might as well get ready for another storm. Now that one will be easier to handle if we take a moment to think back on the fact that we made it through the other ones, but only with God. So, how do we do it? How do we handle life’s storms? The full answer: One day at a time with Jesus by our side. Jesus said, These things I have spoken unto you, that in me ye might have peace. In the world ye shall have tribulation: but be of good cheer; I have overcome the world. (John 16:33) Let’s remember that one, the next time we are facing a storm. And as always, take it to Jesus in prayer.
