Not since he was 12 and gone for 3 days had I felt such anxiety.
But then the time had come, when he would leave in all his deity.
He left me again. My son was gone. He had to die upon the cross.
And I knew that if he did not, the entire world would be lost.
When I saw him nailed to it; it was almost too much to bear.
I saw his pain, I felt his pain. There were some who did not care.
But when I felt his spirit leave, it was a feeling I can not describe.
My eyes were blurred, my heart it stopped. I felt I died inside.
What a honor for me. I was the one who gave birth to our God’s only son.
What a honor to have watched him grow. Yes I was the chosen one.
I must accept the fact that he did not belong just to me, his mother
For others who also loved him, were his mother, sister and brothers.
And though it broke my very heart I knew that the deed must be done.
For he was born to die for all, yes all, including me his mom.
He accepted the purpose given to him, for God sent him down to this earth.
He had come to bear the sins of the world. But when he rose that was our rebirth.
He was the only one worthy, a man, free from sin. I mean all sin!
A prince of peace, a wonderful savior. He is Our only worthy friend.
It gives me great comfort to know that my son gave his life willingly.
My heart was sad when he died, yet filled with unexplainable glee.
I was the mother of our blessed Savior. Yes I shed my tears for him.
And from the heart of a mother the day that he died caused deep sadness within.
It was also for me that he gave his life. My son, the Holy one died for me as well.
He never complained as he hung his head. He was humble. A mother can tell.
Now when I heard the tomb was empty, I wasn’t surprised, I knew it was true.
He conquered death and now eternal life is possible for all of us too.
I’m glad to know that he’s not dead. And that he sits with God on the throne.
My son, God’s son, our precious Savior lives and all sad days are now gone.
