Abba, You are good all the time.
Even when I can't see,
Even when I can't feel.
Even when the path is clouded by doubt and fear,
I can rest assured that You are still there: here.
You are still moving -
Still stirring up the dust of my life.

When my eyes are wide with fear
And swollen with tears,
There, You are still standing -
Arms open wide: Waiting,
Longing to hold me close to your heart,
Handle my fragile heart,
And heal my broken spirit.
Jehovah Rophe: My healer!

Jehovah Jirah: My provider!
Jehovah Shalom: My peace!

The gentle whisper of your spirit touches my ears,
And I am drawn to where I cannot see.
One careful step after another: Trusting.
Faith - the evidence of things unseen
and necessary to please God.
A lesson not easily learned.

The grasp of darkness lays its heavy hands upon my shoulders;
I pause.
The fear bubbling in my chest drowns out the quiet summons.
I fall,
The suffocating grasp grows tighter.
Panicked, I cry out!

Trumpets break through the deafening silence and proclaim:
"Overcomer!
Stand up and fight.
You are more than a conqueror through the One who loves you!
Be strong,
Be courageous,
Have faith!"

Lifted up from the ground,
The grip loosens and falls away.
Freedom.
Still dark.
Still uncertain.
Now, encompassed by hands of peace.
Able to step once again,
Out on Faith!
