My Perfect Space

My little kitchen
The circle of my life
All my life starts and begins
Here in my little corner
Where my happiness will never end

Here in my little corner of the world
Made especially for me
I find myself
So happy and care-free
My little kitchen is where I found me
Singing and praising the Lord
Come on in and visit and you will see

I hear a friendly bark
The front door opens
It’s my husband home from work
“Hi, sweet heart, just how was your day?
Come on in here, I’m here in the kitchen
Let me get you a cup of coffee
While we talk about your day
Here’s today’s mail
You open,
While I pour the perfect brew
Just the way you like it, made especially for you.”

My favorite part of being a wife
Is being a mother you see
Here in this wonderful kitchen
Is where I’ll always be
The contentment of my happy life
Is being a wonderful mother and wife

A recital hall, a lullaby, a stitch in time
A mother and daughter tear
If this room could talk
What secrets she could share
The pages of a best book
Folded with care

Scratches and scrapes
A hug and some love
My corner became a band-aid station
If you needed anything at all
My time you are never wasting
I fixed their skinned knees while
Thinking about recipes

I solved the problems of the world
Cradling a baby on my knee
My kitchen rocker
Is the perfect place to be

Here in this little room
Filled with pots and pans
A stove and refrigerator
Is the perfect plan

My refrigerator holds essential stuff
Like butter, milk, eggs and bread
The door is an art gallery
Of the most precious things
Beautiful coloring pages
That makes my heart sing

Please come and see me
A welcome mat is out
For all the wonderful mothers in the world
Don’t bring anything but you
Let’s have a cup of coffee
While I make my evening stew

Let’s discuss the problems of the world
We can fix them you see
By raising our children
To be the best that they can be

Future Leaders of America
Is what they will be
If we just teach our children
About the Jesus Family tree.

We must turn their hearts toward Jesus
The finisher of their faith
Here in my little kitchen
The perfect teaching place
