How will you remember them?
by Dan Langerock

There is a sad time in life when we must face the fact we will not have our loved ones around anymore. Friends and relatives so dear to us leave us through the gates of death, and we feel so left behind and alone.

This is one of the hardest things we must face as humans, but there is much we can do to make these passings less painful:

Appreciate those we care about not just in our minds but verbally as well. Express how you feel about someone so you won't have regrets later on. Once the person is gone there are no more chances to say those unsaid words.

Treat those you care about with respect now, then your memories will be much happier. "Actions speak louder than words", anyone can say whatever but it is how we treat others that really tells what kind of person we are. Here is a poem to help you remember:

I would rather have one little rose
From the garden of a friend
Than to have the choicest flowers
When my stay on earth must end.

I would rather have one pleasant word
In kindness said to me
Than flattery when my heart is still
And life has ceased to be.

I would rather have a loving smile
From friends I know are true
Than tears shed round my casket
When this world I've bid adieu.

Bring me all your flowers today
Whether pink, or white, or red;
I'd rather have one blossom now
Than a truckload when I'm dead.
