Salvation Belongs to Our God


1 He who dwells in the shelter of the Most High
will rest in the shadow of the Almighty.
2 I will say of the LORD, "He is my refuge and my fortress,
my God, in whom I trust."
3 Surely he will save you from the fowler's snare
and from the deadly pestilence.
4 He will cover you with his feathers,
and under his wings you will find refuge;
his faithfulness will be your shield and rampart.


Continuing in this theme: the Essence of His Presence (3), I want to focus on salvation.
Salvation Belongs to Our God. He is Jehovah Nissi, Our Victorious Banner. In the Hebrew Jesus means Yeshua from where Joshua was derived, meaning Jehovah saves or Jehovah is Salvation. Jesus came to save us from our sin and sin-sickness He came to save us from our pain. He came to save us from bondage, enslavement and imprisonment. Tit1:3, 1John4:14 1Tim.4:10, 2Pet2:20, Matt1:21
The fowler is like a bird catcher that sets a trap. He does not do it in view of the birds but secretly.
Lam 3:52 No one had reason to hate me, but I was hunted down like a bird.
Ezek13:20- I hate the magic charms they use to trick people into believing their lies. I will rip those charms from their wrists and set free the people they have trapped like birds.
1 Sam26:20- Don't let me die in a land far away from the LORD. I'm no more important than a flea! Why should the king of Israel hunt me down as if I were a bird in the mountains?"
Ps124:7 and we escaped like birds from a hunter's torn net.
…The snare is broken and we are escaped. KJV
Prov.1:17 They are like a bird that sees the bait, but ignores the trap.
Prov7:23 and killed with arrows. He was no more than a bird rushing into a trap, without knowing it would cost him his life.
The scriptures above vividly show us that bird trapping is big business and has a spiritual analogy. Satan is the bird-catcher. He prowls about like a roaring lion seeking whom to devour. He deceives and pretends like an angel of light. But when we are yielded to God we can be sure that we are protected from the fowler’s snares. He may shoot His arrows, but they will not find their target. God will give us advance warning of where those traps are hidden and our feet would not be caught in the wicked schemes, nets and devices.

The enemy planned to execute Peter, set a trap and caught him in his net but God sent His angels to snap the trap and set captive Peter free Acts12.

Paul and Silas were also caught in the enemy’s trap but God loosed the chains and they were not only saved but the jailor and his household were saved.
Acts 16:19-32.

Cornelius, the centurion, was ensnared in a trap of good works. God saw his heart and intervened and showed him the way of salvation. Acts 10

Paul was also steeped in religious fanaticism, killing believers in his zeal. Jesus arrested him and his life was turned around. Acts 9

The key to escaping the traps of Satan is dwelling in the secret place, spending time with Him in the morning or whenever is best for you. That is the place snares are broken, entrapments foiled or unfurled.

We are not ignorant of the devicesof Satan. 'Surely, he will save you from the fowler's snare.' That will be your portion as you dwell in the presence of the Lord continually; that will be your portion when your soul craves for the Lord as the dear pants after water.

Just like the Syrians plots were revealed to Elisha so will the Lord reveal the plans and plots and ploys of your enemy.2Ki6:3-20
Salvation belongs to the Lord. He will save you and protect you and preserve you.

And this reminds me of a song that goes:
'Rejoice for the steps of a righteous man
They are ordered of God.
They are ordered of God
Rejoice for the steps of a righteous man
They are ordered of God.
in the time of trouble
God will uphold him,
God will preserve
God will protect
In the time of trouble
God will lift Him up
So rejoice your steps are ordered of God.'
May this be your experience.

Let us pray:
Thank you Lord for your secret place, your place of intimacy, security, revelation and illumination; a place where the traps of the enemy is revealed to your own; the place where snares are broken, the place of power with God and man.
As I come into this holy place, open my eyes to see every ploy of my adversary and grant me the wisdom to avoid them.
Salvation belongs to you my God and no weapon fashioned against me shall prosper.
I shall escape like a bird from the hunter’s torn net. I shall not take bait that the enemy gives. I shall not rush into any net.
Lord I pray that you will open my eyes to any trap that I may have been caught in and show me the way out. Send your angels Lord and deliver the redeemed of the Lord.
I count on your faithfulness, you love and compassion.
Salvation belongs to You who sits on the throne.
To You be the glory ,honour ,power and praise.
