If there are really 24 hours in a day
Why is it that 15 of them are used between 8 and 5?
And a weekend is supposed to have 48 hours
No way, I say, there are only 20, at best

It seems the time I spend at work
Goes on forever and then I’m home, and guess what,
It’s time for dinner, sleep, and then back to the office
Leisure time is spent cleaning and cooking
Shopping and bill-paying, along with laundry

Once in a while I get a whole day off
But last time that happened, I had the flu
So nothing got done and the paycheck was short
I know for sure we’re no longer in Eden

Things of this earth will rust and fade away
The only constant we have in this life is Jesus
So I spend my time at the office and pray
For his swift return so I don’t have to type today!
