He who dwells in the shelter of the Most High
will rest in the shadow of the Almighty. Psalm 91:1

How comforting to know that there is place of rest, a place of impenetrable protection and safety in our God. He is a shield to those who trust Him. In His presence is fullness of Joy and at His right hand there are pleasures for evermore. Where He is, there is liberty, security, serenity, wisdom, assurance, comfort, guidance, boldness, goodness and mercy, faith, joy unspeakable and full of glory, illumination, peace that surpasses all understanding.

Little wonder the Psalmist said:
As the deer pants for streams of water,
so my soul pants for you, O God.
2 My soul thirsts for God, for the living God.
When can I go and meet with God? Ps42:1-02
4 One thing I ask of the LORD,
this is what I seek:
that I may dwell in the house of the LORD
all the days of my life,
to gaze upon the beauty of the LORD
and to seek him in his temple.Ps27:4
How amiable(lovely) are thy tabernacles(Your dwelling place), O LORD of hosts!Ps84:1
This was why God said: Then the LORD said, "There is a place near me where you may stand on a rock.Ex33:21

But just as you do not find gold on the surface there is a price to pay. No price, no prize. Cast iron guarantee of God’s manifest very presence and protection is for those who are no longer casual visitors to His Holy Place. They have taken advantage of the torn veil and are residents. They practise God’s presence wherever they are. They communicate with Him. They abide with Christ and Christ abides with them. They have a short account with God and repent and get back to fellowship when they sin. They know they are seated in heavenly places with the Lord and rule and reign with Him. They know who they are in Christ, whose they are and whom they have believed.

I want to rest in the shadow of the Almighty, don’t you? I want to know that I know that I know that regardless of what I feel or see, I am under the wings of the Most High, the Creator of the Ends of the Earth, the Lover of my Soul, Who knows my end from my beginning.
Under that shadow there is a shade from the heat of life, the pressures of life; there is comfort, there is warmth, affection, boundless love and provision.

Let us try practising His presence, dwell (sit down, spend quality time) in His secret place and the place of intimacy. And when we do, we can be assured of standing on the rock, hiding in the rock, finding streams in deserts and roads in the wilderness of life.

Let us pray:
Lord, I thank you for your promise of resting place under the shadow of Your wings.
Teach me Lord to dwell in your presence constantly as to enjoy this benefit. Open my eyes, O Lord to behold the wisdom of intimacy with You. Help me Lord, to know what should take priority.
I yield my whole being spirit, soul and body, as a living sacrifice to you, the Living God.
I need you, O I need You. Every hour I need You. Come bless me now, my Saviour. I come to You.
