Let the words of Christ, in all their richness, live in your hearts and make you wise. Use his to teach and counsel each other. Sing psalms and hymns and spiritual songs to God with thankful hearts. Col 3:16

So long as we remain on this earth, there will be issues in our lives which will attempt to disturb our peace, steal our peace, shake our peace and derail us. At such times, we have a choice to make which is crucial. That choice determines whether or not we lose or keep the peace of God. That is why the scripture says, ‘Let.’ This means, you do something about it.You can do something about it. You have a will to exercise. God has given you a will that He will not go against.

Cast that care on Him, share the issue with Him in prayer, surrender the issue to Him who knows all, and cares for you , loves you with an everlasting love, a great love, so much that He was willing to give Jesus- His beloved, His very best. He knows how to deal with that situation. There is nothing too hard for Him.You cannot make the situation better by worrying.

The words of Christ will counsel you when you are unsure as to what to do. Ask the Holy Spirit to help you. Ask Him to give you insight as to what He is saying to you in the passage you’re reading. This is what they call the Rhema of God’s word- what God is saying to you.

Sing the Psalms even in your own way, with your own melody. Look for the ones that lift you and sing them when you’re disturbed and you will be lifted out of depression or oppression. Make up new spontaneous songs. Sing about what God has done for you in times past. Sing about what He is doing now, even though you don’t see it. Sing about what He will do in the future- His good plans concerning you.

Give thanks for what He has done and is doing, and as an act of faith, thank Him for the great and marvellous things He will do. ‘Count your blessings. Name them one by one, and it will surprise you what the Lord has done for you.’

Pray for others who are in worse situation than you.

Ponder on the words of Christ. They are not mere words. They are powerful, comforting Words, giving reassurance, healing, future filled with hope. Let His words mount guard over your mind. Let it determine what comes in or goes out of your mind like an umpire. Your mind is an important playing field and mine field. It is a battleground. You can only win that war with the words of Christ. Meditate on the word of God daily especially those that address issues in your life. Love the Lord and love His word and you will stand when the winds of adversity come blowing and the storms come in their ferocity. Your house will keep standing at the end of it.
Peace be still, and know that the Lord He is God!
