LIKE YOU A PRISIONER.........

"And it was now about the sixth hour, and the darkness fell
over the whole land until the ninth hour,
the sun failing, and the veil of the temple was torn in two"
Luke 23:44-45



Its as if some great black hole
Sucks the light out of heaven
And there You hang, caught between

The darkness that is, and the dawn that is yet to be.

Juxtaposed,
Suspended,

Caught between this age
And the one that is to come;
You hang

In a moment of time,
In a time of contradiction.
Betrayed by those who love You,
Praised by those who hate you. Our
Master of contradiction
You hang

On the altar of original man,
Bound by a veil of silence
Until the silence is torn
By a primal cry:


"Eloi, Eloi, Lama Sabachthani".


You. Alone. Suspended,
Hanging
Between the hope of hell
And the faith of man -

For this I know
at the last He will take His stand.


But now I see You hang,
An alien in an alien land,
Life hung on a hill of death,
Poised in the midst of contradiction, the
Lover of those who do not what they ought
And do what they ought not.

How is it played? This eternal choice
Made with flesh flayed and crown
Of thorns to pierce the soul,
And there You hang;

Master of contradiction,
Suspended,
Between the morning and the night,
Between the darkness and the light,

You take Your stand, but still You hang
As the stakes and ropes
That pierce and bind
Break Your bones like water.
And there You hang

Crushed

Between a human heart
And the choice of God
You take Your stand:

And still I hang,
Suspended,
Caught between
the knowledge of a man
And the mystery of some greater plan; -

The cruel contradiction
Of the Father's hand
That gives up You,

For me.
