Ignoring the shame,
Yet He came;
Abandoning the glory and majesty,
Embraced the earthy, the gory.
Unlimited, yet limited Himself.
Wrapped Himself with a body.
Came to man that man
may come to the Holy,
By being the Son of man.
The best of God came.

And though He so loved us
Yet we rejected Him,
Spat on Him, called Him names,
Bruised Him, vilified Him,and
Preferred a criminal to Him.
The creature castigated the Creator.

He gave man the best.
It was the only way;
The only way God could make a way;
A way for many to see Redemption Day.
And so He paid the greatest price,
Made the greatest sacrifice
God's best was poured out,
To buy you and I back,
Into the sheep-fold.
Although tried, tormented and terminated,
He conquered the grave, was resurrected.

Now if you are saved,
You're saved for His purpose:
Saved for His praise,
Saved for His glory, and
Saved for His pleasure.

And if God gave His best,
Does He deserve anything
Less than your very best?
