Barred Window

A man awoke in his cell. He looked outside through the barred window to see his last sunrise, for this was the day he was sentenced to die. He looked at the markings on the wall, the ones he looked at so many times. It read, "All prayers are heard." The man knelt down to pray, "Dear Lord, I've wasted my life and have hurt many. I don't wish to die, if I could only do it all over again, I'd live my life for you. Please hear me, I need you, and though I'm a useless sinner, please don't shut me out, I have no one else.  I believe  your son Jesus died for my sins and has been risen to heaven by you, please by the blood of your son Jesus,  wash away my sins and let Jesus be master of my life." And he began to cry. Then he heard a voice coming through the window, it sounded so afar, yet so close and clear. "Dear son, the markings are true, all prayers are heard. Many times I have sent you messages, and so many times you have turned away. This last message, the markings on the wall, I sent to you. Do not be afraid, for I come unto you and give you everlasting life." The wind blew and the voice was gone. The man arose and looked outside the window. This was to be the greatest day of his life.
