Romanced by the Lover of My Soul, my soul is desperate for only You. I long to pour out my passion before Your feet in the stillness of that Secret Place. I fall into Your arms seeking Your shower of Love and quiet rest. Still the storm in my heart and mind. Guide me into Your Truth. You alone can fill this hunger and thirst in me. I want to abide where You dwell. I am a daughter of Yours, My King. Make me what You created me to be. Escort me to the next spiritual plain where You’d have me journey. My hand is in Yours as You hold it tightly to Your chest.

I want to know my Father’s heartbeat as my very own. May our hearts beat as one. Hold me, Jesus, help me in my journey. Sustain this weary soul. I thank You that I am a Chosen Child of the King with my brothers and sisters in Christ. Thank You for blessing me beyond measure. I give You all honor and glory for what the fires of life will produce in me through Your Power. I am at the end of my strength and I lay it all down to You once again. I lay all of my Isaac’s down, the things that I hold so dear. You alone are Worthy. Impart to me all that I need for my next steps, my next breath. Help me not to embrace the message of my wounds, but what Your Word says about me.

From the depths of my soul, I hear You calling for me to come draw near. I sing out a love song to My Father. I sing out a love song to my Father with all that is within me. From the depths of my spirit, Jesus, You are my one and only. Only You can still my heart and calm the fear. Only You hear my quiet whispers and desperate cries. You know this heart of mine like no one else, and still, You love me. Thank You, Jesus. Thank You.

The things you write, Mitzi, so clearly set straight the question as where to spend our lives, our energies, and our affections. Jesus is either the love of our lives or we've never really understood the high calling and purpose of our existence, nor can we comprehend the joy and glory that we've cheated ourselves if we look to anything or anyone for our all-in-all instead of Him! Thank you!

This is such great advice: "Help me not to embrace the message of my wounds, but what Your Word says about me." We too often live with distorted identities, which leaves us unable to fight for what is true. As a woman of God, you are insightful and influential, sensitive but powerful, Mitzi.

Amen! Matthew 5 verse 6 "Blessed are they which do hunger and thirst after righteousness: for they shall be filled."

To be hungry and thirsty is to have an unfullfilled need. The Lord has promised to fill this need, and says we are blessed if we are hungry and thirsty.

Seems no matter what our need, the cry comes out the same... though, perhaps, worded somewhat differently. You've certainly written it out beautifully... my heart's cry! And the heart's cry of so many. Well done, my wonderful friend. Is there anything more soothing than to be made aware of His romancing nature in the midst of all the trials we must endure?
