As far back as I can remember, I have had three questions in my mind. They were: Who am I? Where did I come from? Where am I going? I remember hunting and fishing with my Dad in Hawaii and Idaho and asking him where all the plants, animals and land came from. He told me that people said that God created them. Even though I grew up in a formal church I wondered who I was and where I fit into this world. From pre-school to half way through college I was very confused about my purpose in life.

I was a junior in college when I first heard the Gospel at a Campus Crusade for Christ conference in Vancouver, British Columbia. The Gospel means "Good News". When I heard the "Good News", I believed it and experienced an extremely radical and dramatic conversion on January 1, 1972. My life finally made sense. I knew that God was my Father and I was His son. I understood the grace of Jesus. He gave His life for me to LIVE.

I Corinthians 15:1-4 reveal a clear summary of the MEANING of the GOSPEL. We are called to receive, stand in and be saved if we hold fast these truths:

1) Jesus died for our sins according to the Scriptures (verse 3).
2) He was buried and arose on the third day according to the Scriptures (verse 4).

The CRUCIFIXION and RESURRECTION of Jesus Christ are repeated as the central themes throughout the New Testament. All of the Old Testament points toward the CROSS. We must spiritually understand these events to receive FREEDOM and HEALING in our lives.

Let’s look at the Gospel from a different angle:

JESUS DIED so we can be changed by God from being a SINNER to a SAINT.
JESUS WAS RESURRECTED so we can LIVE IN HIS RESURRECTION POWER.

I am experiencing more freedom and healing as I walk with God day by day. I do my best seeking His purpose and plans in my life. Look at the results of yielding to Him:

I do my BEST and He does the REST.
I do the NATURAL and He does the SUPERNATURAL.
I do the VISIBLE and He does the INVISIBLE.
I do the POSSIBLE and He does the IMPOSSIBLE.
I am LIMITED and He is UNLIMITED.

I have my RESPONSIBILITY and He has His RESPONSIBILITY. We are partners. He is my Father and I am His son. He is my PROVIDER and PROTECTOR. I cooperate with my Father by receiving HIS PROVISION and HIS PROTECTION.
