We are God’s beloved and He desires for us to know Him personally. The LORD wants His bride to hear and recognize Him. "And I will give you the treasures of darkness, and hidden riches of secret places, that you may know that I, the LORD, which call you by your name, am the God of Israel" (Isaiah 45:3)

God wants loved with our whole heart, our soul and all of our strength. That’s an indication of the LORD‘s affection for us. Jesus desires intimate fellowship with His loved ones. We must have a longing in our hearts for our Holy King. He truly is the lover of our souls. While we spend time in worship, prayer and study, we need to focus on learning Jesus’ heart. Listen to the Holy Spirit’s soft call. God wants to woo you. "I will betroth you to me forever; I will betroth you in righteousness and justice, in love and compassion. I will betroth you in faithfulness, and you will know the LORD." (Hosea 2:19-20) Jesus prayed to the Father: "And this is life eternal, that they might know You the only true God, and Jesus the Messiah, whom You have sent." (John 17:3)

The Most High yearns for us to seek and to know the fullness of His guardianship of us. It is God’s magnanimous nature to reveal Himself to those that seek. The LORD is everything to us and we should acknowledge Him as God, Father, Teacher, Defender, Husband, etc. Realize that God is all mighty. Seeing the LORD as Father means knowing that He will ever love and provide for us. Our Teacher will give wisdom and insight to devoted students. The Defender shed His blood to silence the accuser so we were acquitted. Our kinsman Redeemer paid the highest price for His bride.

The Bible has many names for the LORD. Each one reveals another facet of our Lord.
Everlasting Father,
El Shaddai: God the all sufficient (meets all our needs),
Immanuel: God with us (not distant),
El Yeshuati: God of my salvation,
Adonai: Lord (Master)
Yehovah m’kadesh: the LORD Who makes holy (the nearer we get to Him the holier we become)

The LORD is your best friend and already knows you inside and out. Every tear shed, need felt and expectation fulfilled Jesus was there waiting for you to share it with Him. Through joys and hardships turn to the One who loves you most. "For I know the thoughts I think toward you," says the LORD, "thoughts of peace and not of evil, to give you an expected end…And you shall seek me and find me when you search for me with all your heart" (Jeremiah 19:11,13)

Know the LORD!

The Hebrew word Yada is defined:
1) to know
a) to know, learn to know
b) to perceive
c) to perceive and see, find out and discern
d) to discriminate, distinguish
e) to know by experience
f) to recognize, admit, acknowledge, confess
g) to consider
2) to know, be acquainted with
3) to know (a person physically)
4) to know how, be skilful in
5) to have knowledge, be wise

What other aspects of the LORD’s nature do you already know well? What areas do you need to know and trust Father God more?

Pray to know God's heart and His Will. Seek God's face, listen for His call. Run into His outstretched arms.
