Even though it was quite long ago
I remember as if it were yesterday
From the moment I saw you I knew
My life would never be the same

You captured my heart that precious day
And became the best part of me
But you know that I could'nt be all that I should
Of the father that I had to be

And though times were tough and roads were long
With countless a winding turn
You've taught me so many wonderful things
Without you I could never have learned

So when I think on how my sweet little girl
Turned into the woman I see
I have only to thank The Good Lord for sending
His own little angel to me

From my lips to God's ear I humbly pray
That I only did right by you
And ask Him to bless each breath that you take
With favor, love and virtue

Now spread your wings, fly high my love
And touch the rising sun
And may the Glory of God be with you my child
My Angel, My Little One
