TODAY, November 29, a Tuesday began like any other day; but something fresh and serious was in the air. I was reading a lecture titled: "MORALITY" from "In The Light of Truth - The Grail Message" by Abd-ru-shin, and the highlight was the superior spirituality of the woman. Moments later, I tune the radio only to hear that the day was THE INTERNATIONAL DAY FOR VIOLENCE AGAINST WOMEN. How appropriate then for me, to encounter this lecture again having being confronted with this work for the first time in 1986, when I was just 10.

On a lighter side, THE INTERNATIONAL DAY FOR VIOLENCE AGAINST WOMEN (same way I heard it on radio), sounds like AN OFFICIAL DAY FOR FEMALE BASHING AND VIOLENCE. I still need to get the words right syntactically (it makes a whole world of difference when semantics forebear syntax in a sentence). But seriously, I understand that it is a day set aside for the recognition of the evil of violence against women, and seeking remedial measures to heal and stop the dastardly acts altogether.

A whole range of atrocities, gruesome to tell even in their finest form, have been carelessly heaped on women. From war-ravaged countries, where women become sex toys for the insatiable frontier troops (spoils of war) to pure(?) enslavement and discrimination in corporate and family circles, the woman has always been made to bear burdens which further depleted her stance in the face of humanity. Rape and sexual abuse carry on till this moment, with many of the victims keeping mute and enduring in silence, thereby 'dying slowly' or courageously fleeing the inflicting environment, forever scarred from deep emotional wounds. They remain silent because of either fear or shame, or even both. Thus, the spread of the dreaded HIV virus which causes AIDS remain unhindered, as these hapless women become unwilling vessels in the unwholesome crusade to taint all mankind.

There are lucky ones who, in this lifetime have therapeutic encounters which completely annihilate pains of the past. Most are not that fortunate. There are still those who are not primed for healing, who rebuff all efforts geared towards becoming whole again, misconstruing the opportunities as further plunge into the mire of mental torment, which they are bent on preventing. The key to health is priming one's self for therapy.

To all those who have experienced any form of abuse, and are still heaving from the effects, I pray that you overcome it, and that you forgive the perpetrators. This singular act opens the door to spiritual upliftment. Glory in the face of troubles, because they are meant to uplift you.

Drawing from the lecture again, mankind is informed that the decay currently being experienced can be overturned and made whole again, but - here is the catch, it is only the woman who can achieve this for mankind. She is spiritually more perceptive than the man.

Without casting aspersions on some established norms, which may have been founded on falsehood, and recognising my limitations as a man with a brain tied to the world of matter, I will draw some inferences:

- I have always believed, without knowing why, that the woman is better than the man. The best woman is better than the best man, but when a woman becomes bad, she is worse than the man.

- Man needs to respect and listen to the woman without equivocations, since she draws more spiritually strength, by virtue of her position. The woman should not abuse this position by being selfish. If a woman remains sound and spiritually connected, the man will
not even have the unction to argue, let alone refuse to listen.

- The wicked men of the world, as history tells us, from Hitler through Pinochet, Pol-Pot and our own Abacha, are behind some of the world's worst atrocities. Yet these men had wives. Were they not privy to these acts? What did they do? When did their men stop listening to them? I have no proof of this, but it nags at my senses that the first violent act against a woman by a man was instigated by another woman!

Man is only physically stronger, but is really the "weaker sex".

Woman, without you, the world as we know it will perish! Lead us out of this quagmire. To those who are fortunate to have this knowledge, "...keep the hearths of your thoughts pure...".

On this day, when the world's nose is forced to sniff at the putrid essence resulting from wicked acts against the woman, no finger should be pointed at any one. Instead, the Laws of Creation should guide all. One of such laws is the Law of Reciprocal Action, which means simply, "What you sow, you must reap".

I salute you, woman, and pray that you never lose the gift of perception as you carry this heavy a load in joyful activity. Amen.
