Too many times we pass up the chance to live.
After much consideration I am convinced this is because we don't see the opportunities. There they are, right in front of us everyday.
How about when you walk outside and the breeze is just right and you feel like running. You're not even sure why but taking off as fast as you can suddenly feels appealing. How about one time giving in. Don't even look around to see who is watching. Or when you watch a child trying so hard to tie their shoes. You want so badly just to do it for them, quickly. Let them, and watch. Capture that little tounge sticking out of the side of their mouth and realize you are witnessing growth. What about giving that older lady you always see sitting on the back row of worship service every week. She has a lot to tell about life. Instead of rushing off to get in front of someone at dinner, see what gets her there week after week. I bet the answer is that she learned how to live somewhere along the way. I can only assume but by slowing down and discovering there is life out there that actually makes us feel alive, we really won't be too concerned about what we missed along the way. This is living. Discovering and learning. Relaxing. Taking in what is already there.
