Phi 3:13 Brethren, I count not myself to have apprehended: but this one thing I do, forgetting those things which are behind, and reaching forth unto those things which are before,

Phi 3:14 I press toward the mark for the prize of the high calling of God in Christ Jesus.

While our past can be a great learning experience, it is to be left in the past. It does not matter if it was good or bad, we learn and we go on. Fixating our minds, and our hearts on the very matters that matter to GOD.

When we sit around and ponder or dwell on the past, we are declining to move on in CHRIST. Instead of moving on, we stay in the past, allowing the same things in our heart that has hurt us, that has caused us to fall, that has made us to slip from the loving arms of JESUS.

Jer 31:34 And they shall teach no more every man his neighbour, and every man his brother, saying, Know the LORD: for they shall all know me, from the least of them unto the greatest of them, saith the LORD: for I will forgive their iniquity, and I will remember their sin no more.

If GOD has forgiven us, and you believe HE remembers our sin no more, then why should we continue to allow our past to beat us down? This is why we are to stay focused on our heavenly calling today, our past is done and over, our tomorrow has not yet come, all we have is today and sufficient worries to overcome today.

As we stay focused on our heavenly calling, just like Peter when he stepped out of the boat and walked on the water, we too walk on the water. Yes our water maybe circumstances that we face daily, our weaknesses, our pride, our laziness, our greed and even our strengths. But as we stay focused on CHRIST, as we read, pray, meditate and study HIS WORD, all our problems, and all our short comings just doesn’t seem all that important. As JESUS is our strength and has sent us, our comforter. Allow THEM to continue the work THEY have started, THEY are extremely faithful to do just that, as we allow them to.

As we stay fixated on JESUS, we become clay in the master potters hands, HE transforms us into HIS likeness more and more each day, not because we are trying, because we can do nothing separate from HIM. HE transforms us because HE loves us, HE transforms us for HIS glory, and HE alone takes us from victory to victory. It is not by our own efforts, praise GOD because I would surely go to hell.

But see, we can stop HIS transforming us, and leading us through victories in HIM. How you might ask, by our hindering HIM, by allowing our past, our tomorrows, our wants and our disobedience to cloud what HE wants for us today. HE knows what we are in need of, ask HIM to show us and reveal unto us HIS will today, the very steps HE has ordained in our lives right now.

Once GOD has revealed HIS love to us, by HIS salvation HE has granted each believer, also by our empowerment to confess JESUS is LORD. Our salvation and relationship with GOD does not stop there. We too must forgive our past, and step up and walk with HIM today. Denying ourselves, denying our wants and placing a higher priority on the wants of GOD and HIS eternal presence HE has so graciously granted those who truly believe.

Phi 4:8 Finally, brethren, whatsoever things are true, whatsoever things are honest, whatsoever things are just, whatsoever things are pure, whatsoever things are lovely, whatsoever things are of good report; if there be any virtue, and if there be any praise, think on these things.
