"Thank You, Lord," I heard her say,
For giving me a brand new day.
You've given me breath to praise your name
I know I'll never be the same.
I cannot keep it to myself
Can't keep it hidden on a shelf;
This kindness you have shown to me
Is not a dream or mystery.
It didn't cost a single dime
It echoed from your heart to mine;
It's easy and it's plain to see-
Your grace has been applied to me.
It must be shared with all I meet
I want to take it to the streets;
Let it be known and understood-
Life is hard, but God is good.
(This is about my friend, Leigh, who survived
lung cancer. She had a lung removed in '99
but did not need chemo-therapy.)
