Jesus! I need Your Godhood!
Make me fear and tremble!
Let me find my rest,
In the fear of You!

Let me find my security,
Shuddering in Your shadow.
The God I don’t understand,
Is the Lord I can trust.

If I can fully grasp You,
I can’t fully follow You.
You are the Second One,
In the Holy Godhead.

You say so many things,
Things I barely understand;
They are so much greater,
Than I will ever be.

You see the nearing end,
From the vast beginning.
You grasp my wandering heart,
With things I can’t ascend to.

Grant me eternal awe!
Holy devastation!
Grant me fearful mercy!
I will be Yours forever!

So bind my heart,
To Your unfailing glory!
Bind me down, keep me up,
In Your unfailing eye!

Jesus! I need Your Godhood!
Make me fear and tremble!
The God I don’t fully understand,
Is the Lord I can fully trust.
