I delight myself in clean laughter,
I give kindness the first chance to speak.
I provide no refuge for hatred,
I find pleasure in exalting the weak.

I close my ears to vain babbling,
I run from the counsel of fools.
I ignore the spirit of greediness,
I seek truth as my master in school.

I laugh at the hearts of the wicked,
I watch their cords of despair.
I walk in the right frame of honor,
I sleep as though not a care.

I serve with the heart of a servant,
I begrudge not a deed that I do.
I find there is pleasure in giving,
I give credit when credit is due.

I find my soul lifted higher,
I find hedges protecting my way.
I find in God where I’m living,

For me a spiritual pay.
