As I took my walk this morning through the already too warm and humid air, my mind was on thanking God for this miracle - another day stretched ahead, waiting to be shared.

I passed a schoolboy waiting for the bus by the side of the street, but when I greeted him with a gentle "good morning" - all he did was shuffle his feet.

Later I passed a lady and her dog, and called out a "good morning" to share, but her face was shut up, she said not a word, it was as if she didn't dare.

I was disappointed at all these closed-off faces, no one would speak, their feelings hidden deep inside, they went through time without seeing the beauty around them, staring straight ahead, they would not look to the side.

And it reminded me so much of myself, in the time before I met you; I went through life with my face closed off, to show my feelings just would not do.

I had built such walls all around my life, to keep things out was why I put them there - but it really was to hide from the fact that inside I had nothing to share.

I went through the days in fear and mistrust, I would not let anyone near, for once you've been hurt, you hide from the pain, nothing was stronger than this fear.

Until I met Jesus, whose gentle hand took mine and He wiped the tears from my eyes, and told me that if I would let Him, He'd change my life and bring it alive.

And when I said yes, and gave Him my heart, the wonders He wrought were a wonder to see, for He took away all the hurt and the pain that was there, His grace lifted me up, set me free.

It was all in preparation, I see now when I look back, for God had a new plan for me to do - and when I was ready, He put it in motion - for that's the day I met and fell in love with you.

Now the fear is gone, replaced by such love, my heart is just filled to the brim, and every day I want to just shout from the rooftops, and share all the joy that I have within!

No closed off face, no fear or distress, I look forward to each new day, for
whatever happens, I know one thing for sure, it will be full of more love than words can say.

I thank God each day for taking me in, for making me over brand new, so
that I would be ready to give love back that wonderful day when my dreams came true in you.

Now we face life together, hand in hand we run into the future to see what
it holds this day - love gives us wings, God gives us dreams, and is with us every step of the way.
