It seems to me that as car makers try to make their SUV's beefier
looking, some of them also make them clumsy, awkward and
downright ugly. At least the wheels are still round. Next they'll
put caterpillar tracks on them. Henry, bring back the Model T.

What are some of the greatest joys or satisfactions in life -- new
car, new home, stock market boon? No, if you live a balanced
Christian life, the greatest joys in life are not tangible things. The
most worthwhile satisfactions come from making a difference in
the life of someone else.

Teacher, Mrs. Sheffield knows all about that. So do other
teachers, pastors, health care workers, etc. who use their efforts
toward making life more livable for others. There is that crucial
word again -- "others."

One of our granddaughters is getting her nurses degree in several
weeks. Because of her caring spirit, she'll be an outstanding
health care worker. She'll be doing her part in making a
difference in the lives of people in need.

Isn't that why God allowed you to stay on earth after he saved
your soul -- to make a difference in the life of someone else?
Otherwise, He could have taken you right to Glory. If we simply
live to satisfy self, of what real value are we to others? Animals
live for the next piece of food, but shouldn't we have much
greater goals than simple self gratification?

Psalm 37:26 says, "The Godly always give generous loans to
others, and their children are a blessing." Loans don't have to be
financial. They can be an investment of our lives. The dividends
are out of this world.
