I wish that I were beautiful
And pleasing to the heart
I wouldn’t use it to excess
but would its peace impart

In oh so many ways
To melody with life’s beat
To brighten up your day.

I wish that I were beautiful
Just like the star lit sky
The twinkling of heavens light
Gives thoughts to reasons why.

I wish that I were beautiful
Just like the ocean blue
The deepness of the forest green
Give hopes and dreams of You

I wish that I were beautiful
In Heaven’s brilliant Light
But, Because of who I am
I stay hidden from Your sight.

I wish that I were beautiful
you could see me as I am
broke in the ways of life
seeking comfort from the Lamb
