He Speaks

Fear tried to capture my heart
Worry tried to get its start
my life was beaten and tossed
Before Him, I was lost

What do I need to fear
Is it because the storm is near
Winds and waves attempt to destroy
but I know there is still joy

There is One, that dwells in me
The One, whom the enemy must flee
When I think the waves will kill
Jesus speaks, "Peace, Be still."

The "waves" have certainly tossed around a great amount fear lately. Though your poem has such a personal tone to it, (and I can personally relate) it is the kind of faith that we, as children of God, must reach out and share with those whose lives have been so devestated. How else will others know the compassion of our Lord unless they see His hands (us) reaching out to them? And if He doesn't speak through us, He'll speak through the rocks. But one way or another, He does speak. I'd prefer that He use us. Great piece!
